A written estimate covering the surgeon's fee, theatre charges, the lens and post-operative medication — given before you agree to anything, and unchanged on the day of surgery. Where insurance applies a sub-limit, you are told that number before you choose a lens, not after.

That LASIK ends spectacles forever
